Pro Tackle Solutions has been in business since March, 2007, but that's not entirely where the story begins. For that you've got to go back a ways, about 10 years for the whole picture. In 1998, two very good friends, Wayne Martin and Hal Manskar, began fishing together on beautiful Castaic Lake in Southern California. There were few anglers alive who knew that fishery as well as Hal did and Wayne was elated to be able to learn from a master. In 2006 Hal left Wayne the bulk of the substantial tackle inventory that he had amassed over the years. Looking for a platform to sell the gear, Wayne began selling the new and used tackle on eBay one lure at a time. As demand and sales began to skyrocket, Wayne soon realized that this new enterprise was pulling away from the "hobby" stage into a full time business. By March 2007 Wayne quit his teaching position, hung a virtual "open" sign, and with those humble beginnings, Pro Tackle Solutions was born.
In April of 2008, Wayne opened ProTackleSolutions.com with an eye toward serving a much larger segment of the angling population. One year later in April of 2009 PTS hired its first employee. An excellent photographer and creative personality, Brandon is responsible for all of the internet listings including design and maintenance. In October of that same year, Valerie (Wayne's much better half!) quit her position as a school principal and came on board full time as co-owner, assuming many of the responsibilities. And now, after a few years of exponential growth, Pro Tackle Solutions has officially opened its new warehouse and office in February, 2010. Passionate about fishing tackle for the avid angler and the fishing industry overall, Pro Tackle Solutions is committed to maintaining the highest integrity, offering outstanding values, preserving manufacturer brand experiences and above all, providing the best experience for our customers.
Pro Tackle Solutions is headquartered in Castaic, Ca. where the swimbait craze all started. Our staff of 3 handles all order processing, fulfillment, inventory processing, warehousing, customer service, business development, and management... So there you have it.
